First flight in back straight omitted.

Plenty of pace on here and that suited IM SPARTACUS, who had failed to get home over 2m4f on soft ground at Leicester last time but found this strongly run 2m just up his street. He was a Group 3 winner on the Flat two years ago, so has a touch of class about him, and there should be more races to be won with him over jumps.

Upright Ima, found wanting off lower marks in the winter and disappointing in previous visits here, ran to her best form on this occasion but less-exposed sorts such as the winner are of more interest.

Visibility won the battle of the front-runners with Tashkandi, who had unseated his rider early on his latest start and jumped with no conviction on this occasion, but this recent selling race winner had his current limitations well-exposed in the straight.

Bob Mountain, who was having his first run in almost five months, was doing all his best work at the finish, as one would expect of a horse who had won over 2m4f early in the season. He is one to keep inmind for a similar event back over further.

The pace was ordinary, and with nine lengths covering the six finishers, the form is no more than ordinary. That said, MISTER JUNGLE is a good sort and has plenty of scope. Second to a decent prospect on his hurdles debut, he confirmed that promise, going on three out and keeping on well.

Rudaki, third on his Market Rasen debut, came with a good run after the last, but was just held. He was three lengths clear of Bay Solitaire, who ran a fair race after a long break, and Uttoxeter winner Bob Mountain, who was a shade disappointing.

Vicious Prince, a 67-rated Flat performer, jumped well enough on his hurdles debut, but got a bit outpaced coming off the home turn and never got back into it.
