BACK IN BUSINESS, patiently ridden, worked his way into the race in the last mile, and though he made a mistake three out, he stayed on dourly to win all out. Stamina is clearly his strong suit, and this was only his eighth run over fences. Rosarian has yet to win over fences, but ran a sound race for his in-form trainer, racing in touch, having every chance from three out, which he hit, and keeping on well. His jumping hasn't always been the best, and though he made a couple of mistakes here, he was safe enough and ran well enough to suggest there are races in him. These two finished well clear of Kausse de Thaix, who wasn't in the best of form coming into the race, but turned in a decent effort. Would You Believe didn't seem to get the trip, for though he led going well down the fair side and had every chance three out, he faded going to the last and finished tired. Lucky Nellerie helped set a good pace, but began too fell the effects on the final circuit and steadily dropped away. However, he fared better than his stable companion Trisons Star, who was never going and was pulled up early on. |

He won well in the end but is not one to get too carried away about as things went his way on this occasion. Mountsorrel was gifted second spot when Young Cuthbert - who would have filled that placing - went badly left at the last, resulting in his rider losing his irons and all momentum. The pair had no chance with the winner at the time though. |

A seller in all but name for this classified chase and some rather hairy jumping from most of them at one stage or another. LAVENOAK LAD has had plenty of chances in the past but it was his day as he battled on doggedly to thwart the attentions of Back In Business. He may well have gone close over course and distance last time, but for coming down when still there with a chance, and gained his just reward here. Back In Business had a sound chance on official ratings, but put paid to thatwith some sloppy jumps and will have to brush up in that department. Present M'lord could muster only the one pace even on this step back up in trip. |

He had been beaten by Wizard Of Edge at Wincanton last week but managed to reverse the form on these terms. He is due to go up another 4lb from Saturday so he was pretty well in here and will not find things so easy in future. Wizard Of Edge is effectively quite well in taking into account his higher hurdles mark but he was outjumped and outbattled in the straight. Back In Business at least got round this time and is not badly treated at present. One of these can come his way. Noble Bily having his first try over fences had his chance until getting the first in the home straight all wrong and went to pieces after that. He will have to brush up in the jumping department. Malaga Boy was still in with a shout when clouting the last on the far side and was eased as a result. He is better than the bare form indicates. |

IRONSIDE made up for a below-par effort after the fitting of blinkers for the first time. He stayed on doggedly when tackled in the headgear but, as far as the future is concerned, it's a case of whether they work again. Surefast, having a first outing for his new trainer, came their with a chance up the straight but lack of a recent run told. However a repeat of this effort could see him win a poor contest. Back In Business got round this time but did not appear to quite get home, while Victory Gunner does not seem to run that consistently. |
