Experience counted for everything here with the first three having run before, albeit at respectful distances behind the winners, strongly suggesting this was a weakish contest.

Interactive, who bolted to post and sent his rider's saddle forward, again pulled his way uncontrollably into a lead which was fully 30 lengths by halfway. Not suprisingly he lurched to a stop at the top of the hill and couldn't even roll downhill from there.

WISTERIA LANE confirmed the promise of his debut effortover 1m5f at Exeter and this big gelding, related to jumping winners, looks capable of going on to better things when going over hurdles.

Irish Wedding and Mistress To No One are more experienced but look stayers in the making for the jumping game.

Lost Soldier Four, with Flat relatives, was undone by inexperience on this racecourse debut. He also got stuck in the pocket against the inside rail at the back before having to pull right round the field. He inched closer through the final furlong to suggest strongly that he will gain compensation from this experience. [BM]

The extended trip and tiring ground made this quite a test for these mares, and four of them had the race to themselves up the straight, pulling well clear.

It was IRISH WEDDING who stayed on the best, having threatened to lose touch with the principals down the back straight. She had started at only 3-1 for her debut over 1m6f at Fontwell, which suggests she had shown plenty, and the credit for her success here should go to Colin Tinkler, for she joined Peter Cundell only on Monday morning. The longer trip looked crucial, and stamina seems her strong suit.

Inghwung, who had finished nearly nine lengths clear of Irish Wedding when also making her debut at Fontwell, is from a family the stable has done well with and may yet win a bumper before she goes hurdling. She did nothing wrong.

Kitty Wong looked a shade unlucky, as having made the running and still led them into the straight, she lost valuable ground and momentum by hanging across to the stands' rail for company after her riderhad hoped to stay inside near the better ground on the chase course. She was beaten only a length, and it may well have made the difference.

Miss Ceka, the only one of the principals who lacked previous experience, attracted interest in the morning and made an encouraging debut, although having closed on the home turn she never quite looked like winning.

The rest were well beaten, but some of them may do better when stamina is at less of a premium.
