A mares' only bumper that had little strength in depth but PRINCESS FLAME could hardly have won in better style on her debut as she stretched well away from a previous winner so the form is respectable for the company. She could be of interest in themares only bumper at Aintree later in the season.

Owlesbury Dream had won well at Ludlow but had no answers here as the winner was too good.

Inghwung should derive benefit for this debut effort.

The running and riding of Maybe A Maltcaught the stewards' eye as she made some headway from a long way back. But after hearing from trainer Richard Rowe and jockey Barry Fenton that the mare was very keen and a doubtful stayer and was ridden to get the trip they noted the explanations.

No strength in depth here, but MARDI ROBERTA was in charge throughout, and having gone clear down the back straight she was never going to be caught. Her rider was looking around and easing down near the finish, and she was value for a few lengths more. A big mare, and a sister to the useful chaser Big Rob, she is held in some regard and clearly has a future at this game. Another mares only bumper with a penalty is probably next on the agenda.

By the time Launceston's rider made his move the winner was already going clear. She went second towards the end of the back straight but was never able to get on terms.

Bangor third Bubbs was never really travelling, and she may want further. Ardente Sauvage came home better than Cliffords Girl, who like Launceston had been rather caught out when the winner kicked on down the back
