ANALYSIS: A cakewalk for SARGASSO SEA, as the form suggested, so nothing new was learned. He made all and generally jumped well, but this was his first win since taking a bumper three years ago and connections admitted he has been a frustrating sort, not appearing to stay two and a half on easy ground even though his dam was a three-mile mudlark, winning the mares' final under top weight. The win should do his confidence good and he looks ready to make up for lost time.

Blank Canvas could never land a blow dropping back in trip, having not got home over a variety of longer distances. With Hardybuck blundering his jockey away early, the form looks distinctly moderate.
