10 ran TIME 4m 1.70s (slow by 7.70s) TOTAL SP 113% 1st OWNER: Andrea & Graham Wylie BRED: M J Foley TRAINER: J Howard Johnson 2nd OWNER: Hanbury Syndicate 3rd OWNER: Chas N Whillans, Dr Doreen M Steele TOTE WIN £7.80 PL £2.90, £1.70, £3.50; Ex £21.30; CSF £34.91; TRICAST £330.29 ANALYSIS: Not the strongest of 0-135 handicap and although it was run at a fair pace very few featured. BOB JUSTICE, who had run well on two runs for his current yard, winning at Wetherby and then finishing eighth in the County Hurdle, set a fair clip, jumped really well and drew clear after the last to score tidily. Jack The Giant had every chance, but probably needs better ground. The pair were clear of Mr Midaz, who has improved steadily in the past 18 months, and ran up to his best having been put up 6lb for his win at Newcastle last time. Turbo was never travelling well and Culcabock faded after racing close to the pace. |
