TOTE WIN £5.70 PL £1.10, £7.10, £17.90; Ex £384.60; CSF £150.34 The two fences at Ballyhack (fences 7,8) omitted due to low sun. My Notes Analysis Comments In Running An eventful contest in which jumping carried the day for MCEVOY. The favourite Back To Bid was an early casualty, badly hampering Nutmeg Tune, before Imperial Sun departed at the sixth from home when third, and with three to jump Modular crashed out when still in contention. Mcevoy, who has a rating of 102 over hurdles, had run respectably on his first two starts over fences. He set out to make all, and a good round of jumping left him with only Bryansford Belle to worry about from the second-last and he eventually got the better of that rival. This trip suited Mcevoy well and he should have a solid future as a staying chaser. The winning point-to-pointer Bryansford Belle wasn’t disgraced behind Sir Frederick here last month. She was upsides the winner from two out but just couldn’t find a way past, but showed enough to suggest that she will be able to win over fences. Well Corned, another winning pointer, would have finished a bit closer but for making a mistake at the last. This represented a satisfactory start to her racecourse career. Ballytrim made a couple of early mistakes. He was well placed from a long way out but was starting to struggle from the fourth-last. A promising sort in bumpers last term, he has yet to deliver on that potential. Nutmeg Tune is probably capable of better, as she wasn’t done any favours by the fall of Back To Bid. Modular was in the process of running a good race when he crashed out. He could be worth keeping an eye on. |
