ANALYSIS: This was a messy sort of race with not much pace and all five were within four lengths turning for home after which it devloped into a sprint. INTO THE SHADOWS had been in good form on the Flat, and the form of her previous hurdle race at Doncaster could hardly have worked out better. She took a little while to pick up, and made a mistake two out, but quickened up nicely and was well on top at the finish. She’s a grand mare who is still progressing, but wouldn’t want the ground any faster than this.

Tessanoora had no easy task having been put up 11lb for her previous win, and as such wasn’t disgraced, though after being sent on three out, in the end she had no answer to the winner.

Diamond Sal, last of the five on the home turn, stayed on to finish a creditable third, these three finishing clear of Golden Odyssey, who was well backed but raced with her head on one side and never looked happy.
