TOTE WIN £3.40 PL £1.50, £1.10, £4.80; Ex £2.50; CSF £8.31 ANALYSIS: This race was run in a time more than two seconds slower than the opener but it produced a good performance from JAZZ MESSENGER, who won a maiden hurdle here last time and led after the third last to win quite comfortably. Trainer Noel Meade said:"I thought he ran a bit Flat last time. He is a nice horse and he is in the Supreme Novices' but I don't know whether he will run again before that. He could also be a Liverpool horse." No Where To Hyde was weak in the market and he was slightly hampered by a faller at the sixth. He was ridden after the fourth last and was unable to quicken. This was not as good as his Pierse showing and he probably needs a really strong gallop over this trip. Dulgodti Bob tracked the leader much of the way but was unable to find any more in the straight. He finished 20 lengths behind the runner-up. Gaza Strip raced some lengths off the pace and kept on without quickening. She has a bit of form and may be capable of better. Star Performance was pulled up behind Solerina at Naas a week earlier when his rider's stirrup leather went at the start. He is better known as a chaser but ran a reasonable race. (MC) |
