TOTE WIN £56.00 PL £13.90, £1.80, £1.90; Ex £232.50; CSF £95.21; TRICAST £553.00 ANALYSIS: MAREOFLOT improved on her recent form to register the first success of her career. Having her first start since December, the winner had previously failed to make any impression on soft ground early in the winter but seemed to relish this better ground. After going to the front after the third-last, she quickly moved clear to put the result beyond doubt and looks as though she may be able to follow up. Hasanpour was 9lb higher than when winning a handicap at Fairyhouse the previous week. He was in with every chance at the third-last but was unable to match the winner when she pulled clear. A consistent sort at this level, he can continue to pay his way. Dulgodti Bob was having his fourth start over fences and his first in a handicap. Hehad a spell in the lead from the fifth-last to three out before Mareoflot went to the front. He should be able to make his mark over fences at some stage. Patton ran respectably on his first start since October and should come on for this. His twoprevious victories have come on fast ground and he can pick up a handicap over the summer. Medianoche made a bad mistake at the fifth, which didn't help his chances, and started to struggle after six out. Blue Corrig was making his handicapdebut and moved into contention before the fourth-last but was soon struggling. He was found to be coughing post-race. Gorthnacurra's rider reported that his mount felt lame in running and pulled him up. The horse was later found to be sound. [RM] |
