ANALYSIS: A strong pace in ground now officially soft, as the rain continued, strung out this field, but pacesetters San Hernando and Alderbrook Girl raced clear.

Only HERE WE GO could get past, which is testament to the placed horses having the ability to win races.

Here We Go was even called the winner by the commentator out of the back straight with his rider looking round for dangers while still stalking the front pair, who were allowed to lead him on sufferance up the straight until a littlenudge of the reins settled it on the run-in.

As such, Here We Go is value for considerably more than the bare margin and his future will depend on the handicapper.

San Hernando battled on well for pressure on this drop back in trip and looks a dourstayer. He is lightly-raced unlike fellow six-year-old Alderbrook Girl who has had plenty of chances. She looks like another from her stable who will enjoy good ground through the summer so is worth bearing in mind next time.

Brendar was the only one able to make any headway from the pack. He sat well out of his ground and did well to raise hopes as he stayed on off the home bend but the exertions told up the run-in.

Cambo took a heavy fall four out when still in the vanguard but nothing else threatened to land a blow.

First flight in home straight omitted on each circuit.

ANALYSIS: Like the first division, this proved quite a test for novices and TEETON BABYSHAM got a perfect ride in the circumstances. Held up well off a pace that was not exactly steady given the conditions, he moved into contention going easily and had still not been asked for an effort when his main challenger Billesey, whom he was upsides, fell at the second-last. He would almost certainly have won in any case and, although obviously flattered by the margin, this was a most promising introduction to Rules. A winning point-to-pointer over three miles, his future is very much in staying chases and he will apparently not be given too hard a time over hurdles.

Billesey, who offered plenty of promise on his hurdling debut over two and a half miles here onhis previous start, would almost certainly have finished second had he not fallen - he was responding gamely to pressure. If this has not left its mark, he should win a similar race.

Seeador ran his usual sort of race without proving good enough and remains a maiden after 18 starts under Rules.

Call Me Anything, having just his second start over hurdles, was racing over a mile further than he had tried before and ran with credit on his return from a 451-day break.

Here We Go made promising headway before the turn into the straight, but could not sustain his effort in his first run beyond 19 furlongs.

Blue Splash showed promise in two runs in bumpers, but would have found this a different test altogether and unsurprisingly failed to last home.

Buffers Lane won a point-to-point on easy ground in Ireland, so he could have been expected to handle this stamina test, but he failed to complete and was a little disappointing.

ANALYSIS: There was an overnight threat to the meeting due to the forecast of frost, but after passing an 8 am inspection racing went ahead. The ground was officially stated to be soft prior to the first race, with some good to soft patches in places, although thejockeys reported it to be very tacky and riding dead. The course had drawn some classy individuals and the day's proceedings started off with a cracking novice hurdle, a race won the previous season by Star De Mohaison. However, the race lost some of its interest with Commander Kev coming down fairly early, and Hardybuck taking a steep-looking fall on the side of the course. That left things to very impressive hurdling debutant TOKALA to win with tons in hand. Wearing the famous green and gold colours of J P McManus for the first time, he had some really good bumper form coming into the race, and fully deserved his place at the head of the market, despite a lack of hurdling experience. He handled the ground well and looks a very exciting prospect. Tony McCoy reported that he was not doing much in front, but jumped well throughout.

Here We Go started his career in positive style for his ex-trainer Jonjo O'Neill, but was quickly moved along when beaten at odds-on in a bumper. Having shown nothing in two starts for his current stable, this was a big improvement on his most recent form and he might be returning to the form of his opening two efforts in bumpers behind some decent types. He will get further.

Campaign Charlie, behind Highland Chief in a bumper, is related to that nice staying chaser of the past Roberty Bob and will no doubt, like Highland Chief, be more effective over the bigger obstacles. Campaign Charlie pulled plenty hard enough in the early stages, and is another that should get further, as should Highland Chief, who seemed to get outpaced as the pace increased, but stayed on up the straight. He finished a fairly close fourth in his only Irish point behind now prominent Gold Cup hope Joaaci, and will no doubt make his mark next season when tried over fences.

His stablemate Cadtauri ran his best race to date and is probably improving with experience, while Cornish Orchid ran by far his best race. Long-time absentee Oyster Pearl was well supportedin the market, but was beaten very early in the race.

From Dawn To Dusk reportedly had a breathing problem.

ANALYSIS: They came home at intervals in this bumper and the winner, MR POINTMENT, looks a horse with a future as he simply galloped his rivals into submission and, with the third home, Here We Go, boasting decent form for the grade, the race looks all right.

The winner showed plenty of zest when stretching away to score and is the type who can defy a penalty, as long as he is not chucked in at the deep end.

Valley Ride was not disgraced on his debut and is another who can make his mark with this experience under his belt.

Here We Go was put in his place by the winner and runner-up. His second at Chepstow last May does not read too badly but he looks an out and out stayer for the future.

Mr Prickle had fair form but he, and previous Hereford winner Jack's Lad, never threatened the winner.

ANALYSIS: THIS did not look a bad bumper on paper with a few of the top stables represented. BLUSHING BULL made his experience tell and made up for getting beaten last time when he probably should have won. The soft ground was in his favour and he is set to go hurdling in the autumn.

Here We Go ran well on his debut but was never going to get to the winner however he should be up to winning one of these.

Lord Olympia is another who boasts previous experience but he could only plug on at the same pace.

Springfield Belle should derive benefit for this debut effort.

Callmecozmo had beaten Blushing Bull last time but he dropped away for no apparent reason on this occasion.
