There were plenty with chances at the end of the back straight, but as they straightened for home it quickly boiled down to a match between TISSEMAN and the former Irish point-to-point winner Bennett - one which the former was soon getting the better of.

Tisseman had been beaten a fair way when favourite at Towcester on his debut in the spring, but he was a sharper proposition here and galloped on well up the hill.

Bennett shaped well and ought to improve enough to win a similar race, but his future lies over obstacles.

There was a fair gap back to Granny's Footsteps, who improved at the end of the back straight and stayed on to just get the better of fellow newcomer Forest Silver for third.
