TOTE WIN £15.00 PL £2.70, £1.60, £2.00, £12.90; Ex £205.40; CSF £73.20; TRICAST £333.14 ANALYSIS: Going into handicap company and waiting tactics paid off with LADY KATE ELLEN, who was brought with a good run to lead immediately after the last. Trainer Paul Nolan said: "She won two point-to-points and jumping comes naturally to her. She will stayhandicapping until going over fences." The stewards inquired into the improved form of the winner and noted Nolan's explanation that the mare benefited from a change of tactics and that his stable is in excellent form. Theatre Diva raced prominently and led after the third-last until headed by the winner. She has been running consistently well and deserves a win. Rathvin Raven is one to note. She was ridden three out and seemingly making no progress, but she really flew after the last and was finishing so fast that she might well have won in another 20 yards. She has been running in maiden hurdles and would have appreciated more testing ground. Longueville Quest made the early running and raced prominently after being headed before the fifth. Her last run was in a chase and the two previous ones were in maiden hurdles, over two miles and three miles, so connections are obviously finding it difficult to determine her trip. Rosie Belle led before the fifth until headed four out.She kept on well and may be able to win a similar race. |
