TOTE WIN £7.90 PL £3.60, £2.70, £1.50; Ex £64.80; CSF £41.28 ANALYSIS: One of the few stamina tests for these poor performers and lightly-raced youngster TIPES confirmed the impression that the further he went the better he would be, although he nearly threw this away, hanging right when hitting the front. He reversed previous form with Trials 'N Tribs when suffering interference and still looks on the upgrade, suggesting he can remain competitive slightly up in class. Lysander's Quest is a solid yardstick and he ran a sound race. He travelled well on the rail behind the leaders, but looked well held by the winner into the final 100 yards before being given an opening which he just failed to take in his first-time blinkers. Trials 'N Tribs took a keen hold under restraint in last. He came round the packdownhill but was outpaced around the home bend before plugging on for third without threatening the principals. He showed that stamina was no problem here and, given a more positive ride, should make amends at this sort of trip, although he has a habit of being keen early in his races. Coppermalt did not quite see it out after committing running downhill with the rest never threatening - Makarim was making his usual late headway, but this veteran continues to hint at a return to winning ways without producing it. Panadin was reported to have bled from the nose. |
