ANALYSIS: The contest was rendered less competitive at the first flight when the favourite Orpen Guama fell bringing down four others.

Victory went to CLEAR RIPOSTE, lightly raced sort on the Flat, who trounced her rivals when drawing clear of her rivals from the third-last flight. She could run again before Christmas according to her trainer.

Undergratuate was left in front at the first and ran respectably in his first start over jumps, while Seelalater was struggling in second when untidy at the last, also contesting her first start over hurdles. Both should benefit from this initial experience.

The Chip Chopman stepped up on his previous start over jumps when keeping on here and is obviously one going in the right direction.

Working Late did not show a great deal on the Flat in Britain but this was encouraging having led for a time until headed five out.
