1.00 x 13.00 1st Summer Soul(IRE) 2nd Serve Time(GB) 3rd Miss Ailbhe(GB) Race Earnings: £577.24

Seven millimetres of rain fell on the track from 6am yesterday morning and the jockeys who rode in this first race seemed to agree there was a nice ease in the ground. This was a well contested novice hurdle with some decent sorts in the line-up and SUMMER SOUL produced a good effort to open his account over hurdles.
The winner came here with two previous outings over timber and, on the second of those, had run a good second to the smart Artist's Muse at Fairyhouse in April. He held second place here from an early stage but looked to be in trouble as Serve Time opened up a clear lead nearing two out. However, he began to close the gap on the approach to the last and was quicker away from that flight, which saw him get to the front on the run-in. He should continue to prosper over jumps and Dermot Weld also expressed the opinion that the four-year-old is capable of landing a good Flat handicap.
Serve Time lost his unbeaten record following victories at Sligo and Ballinrobe but he emerged with his reputation enhanced following this fine front-running effort and he finished well clear of the third. He shouldn't have to wait long to regain the winning thread.
Miss Ailbhe ran well on her first start since April. She showed up quite well in a couple of useful maiden hurdles last season and kept on to secure third, showing enough to suggest that a maiden will be within her reach.
King Ali, who has shown ability in the past, was only seventh coming to two out but was putting in his best work in the closing stages. This was an encouraging effort and he looks as though he will be well served by stepping up to two and a half miles.
Jubilant Note was under pressure before the second-last and a mistake there put paid to his chance. He came here chasing a hat-trick but after two victories on firm, the softer ground was probably his undoing.
Frenchfurze Lad ran respectably on his fourth start over hurdles. His best chance of success could lie in handicaps.
Sally's Dream landed a Sligo bumper on firm ground last time but appeared to have something to find on her third to Jubilant Note at Bellewstown earlier in the month. This was only her third start over hurdles and there should be more to come from her.
Imco Tendence travelled well in a prominent position for a long way but began to retreat after two out. He could be worth keeping an eye on.
Fly To Dubai made a winning debut over timber at Sligo recently but he was in trouble coming to two out here. He is capable of better. [RME]
