Near enough perfect ground for a cracking two-mile novices championship lacking only Rhinestone Cowboy, Self Defence and Puntal.
Back In Front an enormously impressive winner, is clearly a hurdler of the highest class. Always travelling comfortably in a race run at a decent-but not breakneck-gallop, he made effortless headway through the field in a contest few got into, and could be named the winner a long way out, so well he was moving. He eased to the front after the second last and burst clear for as an emphatic a victory as you could hope to see in a Grade 1 race. Proven in the mud over two and a half miles, he had no problem handling this ground and has bags of speed - in short, all the credentials you look for in a potential champion hurdler, and there is plenty of improvement still to come after just four races over hurdles.
