 Thisthatandtother, one of last seasons top novices over hurdles, has the scope to be even better over fences and he did nothing wrong on his debut, settling nicely and jumping adequately to win as he pleased.
He would have had more of a race has Zeta's River not departed four out when upsides him, but Thisthatandtother was travelling the better at the time, having being asked no sort of question. It would just have been a bit more informative to see him needing to jump at speed and having to exert himself, but now we will have to wait until later in the autumn when he faced his first real task, beginning at Cheltenham next month.
