This looked quite a moderate contest but Hoxne Star was the pick of the paddock and made a winning debut.
He had been waited with in the early stages, but came strongly on to the scene entering the final furlong and got on top in the final 75 yards to win going away. He should improve for the experience but his future looks to be in nursery company.
