Runner up to King of Spades on his debut at the Galway Festival, Pure Theatre looked a pretty smart performer then and he created an even bigger impression here, going to the front 4f out and being in full control of his rivals all the way up the straight. He was clearly travelling better than any of his pursuers 2f out and ran out a convincing winner. Trainer Eoin Griffin rated the winner by some way the best he has had in training and the long term target is the Weatherbys Champion Bumper at Cheltenham in March with one of more runs to come before them. |
