A very poor contest run at a decent gallop, thanks to last years winner Mr Fortywinks and Double Blade, who soon build up a healthy lead on the remainder of the field. Although Double Blade travelled the strongest, as he's inclined to do, he was the first to crack and it was Mr Fortywinks who was still at the head of affairs heading down to the final furlong. The picture then changed, however, with Mr Fortywinks inclined to wander under pressure, found wanting late on as Regal Fantasy came home the best. The winner, an Irish recruit, clearly relished this step up in trip, but she's nothing to get excited about, given she raced off a mark of just 32. |
