ANALYSIS: A most taking comeback by ANDEAN in a competitive conditions race where he had to overcome being outmanoeuvred as well in something of a tactical affair despite the frontrunning Orcadian.

Trainer Saeed Bin Suroor said: "He'll come on from this run. There are no plans but he'll go for a better race."

Andean impressed in responding gamely to get his rider out of jail as Leporello and Kings Quay quickened past and away as he had to sit and suffer on the rail behind weakening leader Orcadian.

Switched out in their wake, Andean showed a willing attitude to win a shade comfortably and there looks sure to be better to come from this first run in 450 days since finishing fifth behind subsequent Derby winner North Light in the Dante last year.

The form of the race looks around Listed standard so Andean looks ready to gain belated Group winning status on this showing.

Leporello looked to take a keen enough hold on the back of the bunch but he quickened up takingly to momentarily look the winner as Andean struggled to get a run. He had no answer to his classy rival but this looked his best effort since his problems.

Kings Quay settled at the back and also produced a strong challenge inside the final two furlongs and this was a much better effort against his elders.

Big Bad Bob ran much too freely early adrift at the back but has still run better than last time at Newbury certainly in relation to Leporello.
