ANALYSIS: A half-brother to useful chaser Go Roger Go, Tom Taaffe's DEAD SOUND followed up his two winnerless bumper runs by scoring here first time out over hurdles. He held the upper hand turning for home and pulled away from the last to score. A winners of one is next for the son of Bob Back who was described as "a tough hardy horse" by his trainer. He will get further on this evidence.
La Fisarmonica had the benefit of a previous run over hurdles when claimer-ridden on her jumping debut at Galway. She held every chance if good enough turning for home but the winner kept pulling out more.
Jupiter Ficial improved on his Down Royal debut effort last week and looks to be going in the right direction.
Get A Few Bob Back had a run on the Flat at Thurles in September. Placed in three of her five starts in bumpers last season, she was another bang there approaching the straight but was unable to continue that momentum.
Royal Man was running here for the third time over hurdles and is eligible for handicaps now while Shifting Alliance, who made the frame in two outings in bumpers, never got in a blow contesting his second start over hurdles. He never settled racing towards the back and was fighting a losing battle early.
Wheres James made a bad mistake at the flight before the stands with a circuit to race and was struggling thereafter.
