ANALYSIS: Dry overnight and the ground was much the same as the previous day with the jockeys reporting it was just on the slow side of good and a shade dead in places.

This was only an ordinary contest on paper. LORD NELLSSON managed to get off the mark over hurdles at the 25th attempt. He was being pushed and shoved along from some way out but the response was there and in the end he scored in the style of a horse who will get further. His trainer is considering trying him over fences again in the near future.

Big Rob, switching back to hurdles after some unhappy experiences chasing, had every chance in the straight. He got in here on a fairly lenient mark but it would be no surprise to see him sent back over fences now.

Maximinus plodded on up the straight while Quintus, visored for the first time, gave the impression he wants further and is now quite favourably handicapped compared to his Irish mark.

Kadam came there with a chance at the end of the back straight but dropped away. He should come on for this.
