ANALYSIS: The market suggested this was a wide open handicap and it was first reserve CARMENS FORD who held on to score after losing impetus over the last. The winner, successful on good ground in a Downpatrick bumper in May, was tackling her first handicap and wearing the tongue tie (not fitted for previous win) showed a liking for this blistering fast surface.

Golden Moon was held up before making eye-catching headway and nearly took advantage of the last flight mistake by the eventual winner.

Orchard Grove was conceding weight all round but couldn't get to the leaders after going third over the penultimate flight. Having won before on easier ground at Down Royal off a 4lb lower mark in March, he may well have been inconvenienced by this quicker surface.

The well-supported Society Time was pushed along down the back straight but to her credit she plugged on under pressure along with Breffni Flyer, who was nearest at the finish.

Aoife's Tiny crept into it gradually but had no more to give when the race developed along with Parlessence who had raced prominently from the fifth last until weakening.

Woody Glen, a winner here a year ago off the same mark, was held up from the outset but when asked to reduce the deficit before the third last was found wanting.

The writing was on the wall for Gatso with a circuit to race while Design To Win didn't want to know at the start and refused to race. Jommoor (coughing) was an absentee.
