ANALYSIS: An ability to stay and to jump were prerequisites in this modest long-distance contest and the lightly weighted BANG AND BLAME did just that. Taking it up after the third last, this former winning pointer was left clear at the next and came home a wide-margin winner.

To The Future, back over fences, kept plugging away, but he was never able to land a telling blow at the winner.

Celtic Flow, winner of a seller over this course and distance last time, had much more to do off a 10lb highermark and had his measure taken from the fourth last.

Pottsy's Joy was well held along with Ta Ta For Now, while Sylviesbuck may have needed this comeback outing.

Of the others, Contract Scotland, Cirrus and Tee-Jay, who has soared in the ratings, were all disappointing and failed to complete the course.

Dark Thunder was making a good fist of things until headed by the winner. He was in second place but looking held when he unseated his rider with a blunder at the penultimate fence.
