TOTE WIN £2.80 PL £1.40, £2.70, £2.00; Ex £14.80; CSF £12.44 ANALYSIS: Despite still being patchy in the jumping department BE BE KING kept his 100 per cent record over hurdles when taking this decent-looking novices' contest fairly comfortably in the end. The softer ground compared to when he won at Huntingdon obviously helped his cause and he has a future over hurdles as long as his hurdling continues to improve sufficiently, as he and the runner-up finished well clear of the remainder. Connections consider he is a chaser in the making and will play the rest of this season by ear with him. Miko de Beauchene represented handicap hurdle form in the contest and, though he tried his best, the winner always had his measure from the third-last hurdle. Killaghy Castle came here off the back of a win and may have been involved in the finish but for a mistake three out and he is better than the bare form suggests. Billesey also fared well as far as the future is concerned as he shaped nicely enough considering he had fallen in a novice chase last time. There is a race in him over hurdles on this evidence. The Sawyer is going to need further than this trip and will ultimately need fences, but there is a small hurdle in him before he switches codes. |
