ANALYSIS: STRIKE AN ARK, who threw away a winning opportunity when running wide into the straight at Wexford, powered away in the closing stages for a comprehensive victory. Her trainer holds her in high regard and a winners' bumper at Navan or Leopardstown isnext on the agenda.

Shoudawoudacouda kept on well for second place and looked a decent prospect.

Bestofthebrownies was a beaten favourite on the first of two outings last season. He ran pretty well for fifth here 13 days earlier and improved again, while Leonardo Corona, who was fancied on the strength of two placed efforts, had a lot to do leaving the back straight but stayed on in the straight and is another who can be winning soon.

Emporcross was another to make a pleasing debut, while the well-touted Optimus Prime plugged on without threatening and is another to take out of the race. Winning point-to-pointer Sir Overbury had snippets of worthwhile form in a winners' bumper at Limerick last season and when fourth in the Goffs Land Rover Bumper at Punchestown. He raced in the leading group until going backwards in the straight.
