Gin Jockey scores landmark victory at Deauville

GIN JOCKEY became the first British-trained horse to win at the Deauville August meeting when he picked up Wednesday's Prix des Yearlings in the hands of Olivier Peslier.

The son of Soviet Star, trained by Richard Hannon, kept his unbeaten record when running on well to beat Stadore by a short neck with Bribon further back in third place.

Hannon said: "I think he needs further and he may well come back to Deauville for the valuable European Breeders’ Fund race"
