ANALYSIS: After 3mm rain after racing on Wednesday night and a further 3mm water put on the track the ground was described as "on the quick side, a bit loose on top".

A nursery 4lb below the race ceiling. SILIDAN, dropped 2lb after finishing behind Prince Of Light in a red-hot nursery at the Ebor meeting here nineteen days earlier, was drawn ten of ten and opted to race wide. Allowed to get on with it he answered his rider's every call and the step up to seven clearly suited him.

Rubenstar, making his handicap bow and stepping up in trip, travelled supremely well off the pace. He went in pursuit of the winner but hard as he tried he could not get past. He deserves to go one better.

George's Flyer, absent eleven weeks after being reported to have a breathing problem, stayed on really well in the closing stages after being tapped for toe. A step up to a mile will be in his favour.

Flying Key, raised 3lb after Chester, was keen to get on with it in pursuit of the winner and did not see it out anywhere near as well as the first two. (WG)
