The action in the closing stages was concentrated away from the rail towards the middle of the track. COSMIC DESTINY went into the race a maiden, but she had the form to go close and appreciated getting a bit of cover for a change, having been inclined to race freely in the lead on occasions. Once in front she held on well. Wise Wager had the hood left on until the last moment but was still slowly away and raced at the back of the field until improving to have every chance on the outside. She looks ready to win again when everything drops in place for her. The unlucky runner was Born For Dancing, who was given a bit to do and didn't have much room when challenging. She was going on at the finish and only just failed to take second. Starduster was a sound fourth on the wide outside, ahead of Campeon, who had taken them along, and Pro Tempore. Last week's Lingfield 6f winner Triple Zero found 5f here too sharp for her. |
