TOTE WIN £24.30 PL £5.70, £1.70, £1.50, £3.30; Ex £91.40; CSF £150.82; TRICAST £962.21Place 6 £62.61, Place 5 £50.74 ANALYSIS: A moderate handicap that resulted in a close finish with FOSSGATE making the decisive move over a furlong out and keeping on well to hold the fast finishing Dispol Foxtrot, who had to come wide from her low draw and would have prevailed in another few strides. The winner was stepping back up in trip, was encountering a sound surface for the first time since July 2004, and clearly appreciated it. Dispol Foxtrot, on the other hand, needs softer ground and did well to finish so close off a 6lb higher mark for her Hamilton success. Monash Lad was trying his longest trip to date and proved he gets it, keeping on well at the finish, and may be able to get off the mark before long. Yashin gained his sole previous success over course and distance, and showed his liking for the track with a bold effort under a positive ride. Favourite Blue Patrick came from off the pace with the winner to challenge halfway up the straight but could not sustain the effort. Latif ran better back on this fast ground, while Remington and Keeper's Lodge dropped away at the business end after showing up for a long way.
