ANALYSIS: This time they spit into two groups, with the five highest-drawn runners switching to the far side. In the end there was little in it, but the stands' side group always held the call.
The form looks to be held down by the exposed runners in fourth and fifth.
RUBENSTAR had not quite got home when second to a useful rival over 7f at York, and the shorter trip and weaker opposition enabled him to go one better - although only just.
Having been held up, he went to the front just inside the final furlong and then held on by the skin of his teeth. Trainer Mark Tompkins said he thought Rubenstar had been in front a bit too soon, as he is laid back and inclined to idle. He will now go for the big money on offer in the Tattersalls Sales race at Newmarket.
High Octave, who had been given just three qualifying runs, showed much improved form on his nursery debut and was in front a stride after the line.
Power Assisted led the far side group throughout, but she never looked to be quite on terms with the stands' side leaders. She is not enjoying much luck with the draw, and she deserves to win a race.
Piccostar chased Power Assisted home on the far side, but this was her ninth start and she is thoroughly exposed.
