ANALYSIS: Raised 5lb for her neck win on good to firm ground at Bellewstown eight days previously, STAR OF RUSSIA coped with the very different conditions well here and asserted inside the final furlong after being switched out to deliver her challenge betweenhorses. She won driven out and should be competitive again in similar company.

Ciaras Luck, running in her first handicap and trying this trip for the first time, performed well. In front soon after the start, she was in the front rank all the wayand was back in front a furlong out before the winner proved the stronger in the closing stages.

Rose Of Alabama produced her best run of the season and achieved a first three placing for the first time in nine starts. The ground obviously suited her and she had every chance from the turn in until failing to find any extra inside the final furlong.

Decarl, winner of a seven-furlong handicap on heavy ground at Naas in April, had not run since May and in staying on quite well in the closing stages she showed enough to be worth bearing in mind for another handicap in the coming weeks.

Haiti, who led for almost seven furlongs when fourth over this trip on fast ground at Bellewstown eigth days previously, was in front after three furlongshere but was unable to raise her game when taken on early in the straight.

Indian Four, 8lb higher than when winning on fast ground over seven furlongs at the Galway Festival, made a forward move after halfway and was fifth into the straight before failing to make any real impression.
