TOTE TRIFECTA Part won. Pool: £763.20 - 0.40 winning tickets. WIN £7.60 PL £2.80, £5.10, £3.20; Ex £144.50; CSF £123.16; TRICAST £970.64Part won. Pool: £763.20 - 0.40 winning tickets. ANALYSIS: If you took out the successful BORDER MUSIC this would have been a very competitive affair, but with him in it it was very much one-way traffic all the way up the straight and Border Music won as he liked. He is clearly vastly more effective on Polytrack than he is on grass and he will be back here again on Sunday to try to re-emphasise that point. Long-term planning looks like taking him to America next year as Andrew Balding feels there will be far more chances for him in that country. Red Spell has never won over as short a trip as this and confirmed the impression that this is too sharp a distance for him. He worked his way into second place entering the final furlong, but though he ran on he could never get to the winner. Marshman, not an easy horse to catch right, was finishing with gusto and is clearly still capable of winning at this level, while King's Caprice was another to be doing all his best work in the closing stages. Sky Crusader, very reluctant to go to post, was finishing well but too late, while Compton's Eleven and Greenslades both remain too high in the handicap. Les Arcs had his chance coming off the home turn but once the winner had flown he didn't. |
