Stallion Fees 2018

Ballylinch Stud has announced its stallion fees for 2018 breeding season.

Lope de Vega, who sired 4 individual Group 1 winners in 2017 heads the roster at €60,000. Managing Director John O’Connor states “Lope de Vega has established himself as a leading international sire and in 2018 it sees the start of his biggest and best crops hit the track so the future looks very positive for him.”

New Bay a Group 1 Classic winning son of Dubawi from the family of Oasis Dream and Kingman remains at €20,000 for 2018. O’Connor adds “New Bay got great support not just from outside breeders but also his shareholders. China Horse Club sent 20 quality mares and have already committed 20 again to him for 2018. Juddmonte have also sent him some real nice mares and will continue to do so next season. We are really looking forward to seeing his first foals arrive and if they have his quality we know we are off to a great start.”

Lawman a sire of 5 individual Group 1 winners which includes two Classic winners will stand for €15,000 in 2018. This leading son of Invincible Spirit will hope to add further Classic glory in 2018 through some very exciting 2yo’s like the unbeaten Group winning Luminate. “Lawman needs no introduction. Sire of Classic winners, Group 1 winning 2yo’s and he has a lot to look forward to in 2018 as well with some eye catching 2yos.”

Make Believe who’s his first foals sell this year has really caught the breeders eye with the very nice athletic types he is throwing. This dual Group 1 winning speedster is sure to make an impact at this year’s foal sales and will stand next season for €15,000. John O’Connor chips in “Make Believe is really stamping his stock, great looks, a big hip and shoulder and excellent walkers. They are sure to be popular in the ring at this year’s foal sales.”

Fascinating Rock who’s first foals hit the ground in 2018 remains at €10,000. This multiple Group 1 winning son of leading international sire Fastnet Rock received great support in his first year at stud. John O’Connor adds “Fascinating Rock got off to a great start at stud with excellent support from ourselves and Newtown Anner Stud. Maurice Regan of Newtown Anner Stud who bred and raced Fascinating Rock is a huge believer in the horse and is determined to support him fully, throughout his career at stud”.

Beat Hollow, who remains at €6,000 is a proven Group 1 sire under both codes. His first Ballylinch sired crop are only 4-year olds and already include the very exciting Hollowgraphic, Some Man and Stay Humble.
