Not too much should be read into the form of this race, which was run at an ordinary gallop, and which saw the bulk of the runners finish in a heap.

CENTENARY, who had the edge over his rivals on experience, had a handicap mark of 70 and had lookedfairly well exposed, but he came home best of all to get on top close home.

Macaroni Gin, a one-time stablemate of the winner, made most of the running and looked likely to prevail until the winner nailed him late on.

Sivota was a little unlucky, being hampered a couple of times from over a furlong out; he should step-up on this.

Coyote Creek ran a fair race, stepping-up in trip.

Provost, who was backed down to favourite to make a winning debut, chased the leaders. He looked alittle green and raw on the turn for home, but he had every chance until coming up short in the final two furlongs. Given his Group 1 entries, it would be no surprise to see his leave this performance behind another day.
