ANALYSIS: GAUDEAMUS made it two wins from three starts having run third behind subsequent Chesham Stakes runner-up Country Song over a slightly longer trip than this on firm ground at Tipperary on her previous start. TAs her maiden win over six furlongs at Naas was achieved with cut in the ground, it would appear that nothing quicker than genuine good going is what she needs.

Her trainer Jim Bolger said: "She was a late May foal, so she is improving all the time. The Moyglare Stud Stakes (Group 1) is the plan and we will see if the Debutante Stakes (Group 2 at Leopardstown on July 29) fits in."

The Real Thing, winner of a six-furlong maiden here on her debut, produced a good effort. Fifth over 1f out, she stuck to her task well inside the final furlong without troubling the winner.

Simonetta, a stablemate of the winner, had won over a mile at Listowel on her second start. She led and disputed here and after coming under pressure 2f out she was headed approaching the final furlong and kept on.She will appreciate going back up in trip.

Pelican Waters, a staying-on fourth on her debut in the six-furlong Leopardstown maiden in which Duke Of Marmalade (winner of the opener here) finished second, stayed on from behind over the last furlong and a half and can improve again.

Liscanna made a reasonably encouraging debut. After appearing to miss the break she was tracking the leaders before halfway but was held when she had to be checked over 1f out.

Evening Rushour, runner-up over the trip on her debut at Leopardstown, shared the lead until nearing halfway and was in contention until over 1f out.

Miss Beatrix, who had beaten Evening Rushour by three and a half lengths at Leopardstown, was well placed but found nothing when asked to raise her effort over 1f out and was eased when beaten.

Moverra, runner-up over five furlongs on her two previous starts, never posed a threat.(TOH)

A successful debut by THE REAL THING, who had made good headway from halfway to challenge for the lead when she was left in front due to Slaney Time jinking left from the whip and running through the rail about a furlong and a half out. She stuck to her task when tackled by the runner-up and her long-term target is the Goffs Fillies' Five Hundred back at The Curragh in September.
